Brief: A co-working space to accommodate the needs of its users as well as its environment.
For this project, we dabbled with the idea of co- working spaces, with special focus on sustainability and building systems. We tried creating a net- zero building, where the energy for the needs of the structure were generated in- situ.
The first floor houses a cafe, the reception and a daycare center for the kids of the workers using the space. The second floor accommodates the co-working space, along with a conference room. The co-working space is flexible, with movable partitions being used to define the working area. The center of the semi- circle is an amphitheater with steps leading up to the structure.
Particular focus was shown on the ventilation system of such a massive structure. Traditional mediums for ventilation like jali walls and wind tunnels have been used to enhance the existing thermal comfort of the brick walls.
