Bio- Tourism Park
Location : Uttarakhand, India
The Bio-tourism park is an initiative by the AAGAS foundation built over 20 years. The core goal of setting up this space, was to bring man closer to nature. As the founder, JP Maithani elaborates, every ‘eco’-ecology, ecosystem, economy, cant exist without man. Which is why, man’s relationship with nature is crucial to the preservation of the same.
The enclosing area includes the nursery, bamboo and ringal plantation, compost pits, poly houses, ponds and bamboo huts. The Alaknanda river flows close to the property and offers a fantastic view.
Not on Maps is responsible for the development and design of three Bamboo Huts and the Mountain Shop Cafe.
The core design theme is aligned to the organization’s belief of locally sourced, sustainable material. Which is why almost all of the items used in the rooms are made of the local Ringal products.
